OUR MISSION
We use creative arts as a medium to nurture students holistically, empowering them to define who they are through self - expression. At THE DEN S.C.A. students learn to recognize their strengths, challenge their weaknesses, define their hopes and dreams, and develop their core values.
CEO
Ray Love was born in the inner city of Grand Rapids, MI. Mr. Love has over 24 years of experience in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary and Hip-Hop dance styles. He has performed in award-winning dance competitions in Michigan, Chicago, Detroit, New York and Los Angeles. His talent as a dancer and choreographer was recognized by Nigel Lithgow of Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance” during his nationally televised audition. Ray Love has been awarded full scholarships to the Grand Rapids Ballet Company, Debbie Allen Dance Academy in Los Angeles, California, and Ad Deum Dance Company in Houston, Texas. Throughout Ray’s 15 years with the Grand Rapids Ballet Company, he has performed in productions such as The Nutcracker, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Dracula, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Prodigal Son to name a few. Performances also include appearances at "Soul of the City," "Festival of the Arts," "The Haunt," “MCM,” Grand Valley State University, Davenport University, Cornerstone University, and Grand Rapids Community College. Ray most recently choreographed and performed at the Nationally televised 2022 GMA Dove Awards.
Mr. Love also has 25 years of experience in Martial Arts. He has been trained in 8 different styles by four masters and the heavy-weight kick-boxing champion John "The Panther" James among others. His Martial Arts record is 36 wins 27 KOs. Mr. Love has been contracted to provide conflict resolution, anger management, gang prevention, mentoring, martial arts and dance training for over 30 Grand Rapids Public Schools through Parks & Recreation, LOOP, Campfire and the FACTS Programs. He has held positions as Dance Coach for Central High School Dance Team and Head Instructor for Union High School after-school dance program. Mr. Love has also functioned as Guest Choreographer for Grand Rapids Community College Dance Team, and Davenport University Dance Team, as well as Dance Instructor for Grand Valley State University Dance Program.
Mr. Love is the CEO and Artistic Director of The P.A.C.K., The Den School of Creative Arts, and "I Am" Outreach Program. Ray continues to hold positions as dance instructor and choreographer for multiple dance companies and studios in the Midwest as well as Outreach Program Coordinator with The School of The Grand Rapids Ballet. Ray Love is also a singer/songwriter, and has provided services for multiple independent artists in the areas of songwriting and vocal arrangement. Over the past sixteen years Mr. Love has touched the lives of thousands of students of all ages. Ray Love is currently based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan where he is pursuing music, dancing, teaching, and choreographic opportunities.
